THE proliferation of coffee shops in Nottingham means you can barely walk 100 yards without finding a latte or espresso.

Coffee shop that left me feeling relaxed, reset and raring to go

Chilli cheese muffin and an Americano coffee at District Coffee

Whether you're a Starbucks devotee or prefer to support the independents like Public or Dispatch, one thing's for sure, you will never go thirsty.

The number of coffee shop loyalty cards I have in my purse is an embarrassment - and then there's the apps on my phone. I have so many favourites that I can't limit myself to just one establishment. Last week I had time to kill between interviews so I ended up in District Coffee, a relative newcomer to Derby Road, near Canning Circus.

As coffee shops go, it’s small - if there were 15 people sitting inside it would be packed out. With black and white walls, wooden tables and stools, and big pot plants, it's cool and contemporary but not pretentious at all.
