Clubber beaten up on dancefloor after he 'stepped on someone's trainers'
Nottingham Post
|September 19, 2025
A MARRIED reveller had teeth shattered when he was attacked by two men on a nightclub dancefloor "for stepping on one of their trainers".
CCTV played at Nottingham Crown Court showed the victim first being punched by a man who has never been identified and then a second time by Sam Walters.
Handing 27-year-old Walters a two-year community order, Judge Tina Dempster said: “This was an incident of violence when you were out with friends and got involved with the victim who was punched once by an unknown male and that was followed up with a punch from you. He sustained several injuries, including facial injuries, and you suggested when you were interviewed by the police you had acted in self-defence.
“But you now accept there is no evidence of that. This is your first conviction and there has been no further offending since. And the author of the pre-sentence report concludes this was totally out of character for you.”
