Chance to shine for new players against Swansea?
Nottingham Post
|September 17, 2025
ANGE Postecoglou has already set out what he expects from Nottingham Forest in South Wales.
No sooner had the final whistle blown on Saturday's miserable afternoon in the capital, the new Reds head coach was keen to draw a line under his team’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal.
Attention quickly turned to Forest's Carabao Cup campaign.
The midweek clash away to Swansea City tonight (8pm) is when Postecoglou wants to see some of his ideas being implemented.
It really does place more importance on this competition than might normally be the case.
He didn’t change too much from predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo’s ethos against the Gunners - but tonight will be different.
“Wednesday night, we will start to see some real principles be embedded,” said Postecoglou after the final whistle at the Emirates Stadium.
“It will not take long. I will not allow it to take long.”
Not only are the Reds likely to take a more attacking approach against the Swans, expect a different lineup in the third round tie.
Postecoglou hinted he is keen to give minutes to players who have seen little game time to date.
