Bus named after local legend who championed his beloved St Ann's

A NOTTINGHAM bus has been named in the honour of a resident who was “very passionate about the area he grew up in”.

Nottingham City Buses (NCT) has named one of its Blue Line buses after Tony Miller, who was a well-known figure in St Ann's.

Having lived his entire life in the city suburb, Tony always championed St Ann's until his passing last year, and created the St Ann’s Well Road Pre-Demolition Facebook group along with three friends.

Set up in 2011, the page looked to dispel negative connotations of the area and celebrate its true spirit.

Over time, more than 4,000 members became part of the group, sharing their memories, photographs and stories and reuniting with old friends and neighbours.
