MP SAYS ELECTION POSTAGE FOUL-UP 'COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE'
A COUNCIL having to pay out after posting polling cards without stamps has been blasted by an MP.
Ashfield District Council has apologised and made arrangements for refunds to voters who had to pay for postage following the blunder.
The polling cards were sent out before tomorrow’s Nottinghamshire County Council election.
Although nobody needs a polling card to vote, the cards contain important details about how to vote and where the nearest polling station is.
Lee Anderson, Reform UK MP for Ashfield, has written to the council claiming that many people never received a polling card.
