A52 stretch reopens next month

THE A52 will soon be fully reopened after months of disruption - but more work is planned.

The stretch of the A52 Derby Road, between the Priory and QMC roundabouts, will open in both directions from Monday, November 24, National Highways has announced.
The highways body, which has been reconstructing the carriageway, tackling issues with drainage and flooding and introducing a cycle path and safer pedestrian routes, said it was hoping to bring “festive cheer" by having the road fully open during the busy Christmas period.
A one-way system remains in place on the A52, heading into the city, as work continues.
