A NEW farm shop is opening at a North Devon garden centre, with a promise to deliver ‘field-to-fork’ grub to shoppers.

- by ABIGAIL NEEP

St John’s Garden Centre in Ashford is set to provide local produce to customers with a focus on supporting local agriculture.

Heddens of Woodtown Farm, a family run farm which has more than 80 years of history in North Devon, will be stocking their produce at the outlet near Barnstaple, including meats, fresh fish, seasonal fruit and vegetables, artisan cheeses and deli items.

The collaboration brings together two long-standing North Devon institutions with a shared vision and a ‘field to fork’ ethos. The move will enhance the shopping experience at St. John’s, offering a wider range of produce and support to local farmers.

Woodtown Farm is just over 12km away as the crow flies with the fields almost visible from the garden centre over the estuary.
