£2.3m approved to finally fill in the gaps on popular trail

WORK to fill in gaps in Devon's Tarka Trail will now go ahead after nearly £2.3 million in funding was approved.
The trail is a major tourist magnet, but a 'missing link' between sections of high-quality off-road provision at Willingcott and Knowle/Braunton means one key section is predominantly on road and so puts off all but the most confident cyclists. Members of Devon County Council's cabinet heard about the trail's importance in terms of tourism and its role in encouraging active travel through walking and cycling.
The work has been split into three projects, with Spreacombe Junction to North Buckland Hill being one, both North Buckland Hill to Cottages and Cottages to Nethercott Road being another, with the third on Deans Copse, Nethercott Road to Knowle.
