The Indian Railways, as parts of its Amrit Station Scheme has undertaken redevelopment of various railway stations in the Western parts of Odisha.

This redevelopment aims to transform key railway stations with modern facilities, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers and promoting regional economic growth.
The redevelopment will focus on improving infrastructure, modernizing amenities, and ensuring seamless connectivity to support both passenger comfort and commercial growth.
The selected stations in the western region of Odisha are expected to undergo significant enhancements in design, technology, and passenger services.
The initiative is in line with the ongoing efforts to modernize the Indian Railway’s network and provide an efficient and user-friendly travel experience for all.
Key Features of Redevelopment:
•Modern Infrastructure: Stations will feature modern platforms, upgraded ticketing facilities, waiting areas and improved cleanliness standards, ensuring convenience and comfort for all passengers.
•Increased Accessibility: The redevelopment will include FOBs with lifts and escalators to improve accessibility for senior citizens, differently-abled passengers, and families with children.
•Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Design: The stations will adopt green building principles, integrating renewable energy solutions, water conservation practices, and waste management systems, in line with Indian Railways commitment to sustainable development.
•Improved Circulating areas in the premises: Through these Redevelopments, a perceptible improving in the Station Circulating areas have been planned with Pick-up and Drop-out lanes along with adequate parking places.
•State-of-the-Art Passenger Amenities: Amenities like Wi-Fi, digital signages & displays, advanced security systems, improved catering services and modern waiting lounges will enhance the overall travel experience.
