Aviation growth could slow on supply woes, better road infra

The travel and tourism sector is expected to see double-digit growth in the coming years, with both domestic and outbound travel continuing to expand, Rajesh Magow, co-founder and group chief executive of online travel agency MakeMyTrip said.

While domestic flights have seen double-digit growth so far in 2025 on high demand and limited supply, Magow said short-term challenges like limited flight availability and the rising preference for road travel due to improved infrastructure might moderate the aviation sector's growth.

"In terms of airlines, supply is constrained but is trickling in. The prices in airlines will get fixed when the additional supply comes in by next year. Aviation may have also lost out a little bit in favour of ground transport, as road infrastructure in the country is getting better," he told Mint.
