India has remained neutral over the Ukraine war; conference condemned Russia for war
Government officials and business executives from India attended an international meeting, known as the Ukraine Recovery Conference, held in London last week to secure funds for the reconstruction of Ukraine, persons aware of the matter said.
The move assumes significance given that India has remained neutral over the Ukraine war since, and the conference strongly condemned Russia for the invasion.
While India has given Ukraine aid, it is unclear whether attending the conference reflects a shift in India's stance on the war. India also tends to avoid multilateral platforms to disburse aid, preferring to do so bilaterally.
The sponsors of the event -- the UK and Ukraine -- were unequivocal in their condemnation of the Russian invasion.
