Govt taps AI to enhance remote healthcare service e-Sanjeevani

The Central government's national telemedicine service, commonly known as e-Sanjeevani, is being enhanced by leveraging artificial intelligence to improve its delivery of services.
AI can strengthen diagnostic accuracy for consultation in radiology, dermatology, ophthalmology etc. It can also enable patients to communicate with doctors in regional languages.
"Tele-medicine has played a crucial role in delivering healthcare services in remote areas, especially during and after the covid-19 pandemic. The health ministry is leveraging the use of artificial intelligence technologies through the e-Health AI Unit to improve the quality of medical consultations on e-Sanjeevani by assisting with diagnostic treatment, predicting and preventing diseases, and crisis management," an official said.
