GCPL Q3 profit drops 28% to ₹342 crore

Mumbai-based Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) on Friday reported a 28% fall in standalone profit in the December quarter (Q3) due to what it called "temporary headwinds," citing weak urban demand as well as a surge in palm oil prices during the period.
Profit for the quarter stood at ₹341.54 crore, down from ₹472.58 crore a year ago. December quarter revenue from operations grew 4% year-on-year to ₹2,237 crore. The maker of Cinthol soap reported flat volumes during the quarter on weak demand in urban markets
