S&P Cuts India FY26 Growth View to 6.5%

S&P Expects Asia Pacific Central Banks to Continue Cutting Benchmark Interest Rates Through This Year

S&P Global Ratings on Tuesday cut India's economic growth projection to 6.5% for the next fiscal year as it expects that economies in the Asia-Pacific (Apac) region will feel the strain of rising US tariffs and pushback on globalization.

In its Economic Outlook Asia-Pacific Q2 2025 report, S&P said that despite these external strains, it expects domestic demand momentum to remain solid in most emerging market economies.
