Govt presents unreal picture of economy

Senior Congress leader and former Union finance minister P. Chidambaram on Thursday expressed concerns about the state of the Indian economy, accusing the central government of failing to address rising inequality between the rich and the poor.
Speaking ahead of the Union Budget, Chidambaram unveiled Congress' report titled The Real State of the Economy 2025, which he described as a detailed account of the country's economic situation, contrasting it with the "unreal" picture presented by the government, which he claimed "conveniently buried" key facts.
