More VCs Back Indian Startups in Q1 2025

More Indian startups managed to get an investor to back them in the first three months of 2025, after two straight years of decline when the number of angel investment and venture capital cheques for entrepreneurs fell during the first quarters of 2024 and 2023 over the respective year-earlier periods, a VCCircle analysis shows.
The number of startups that bagged funding rose 10% from a year earlier to 318 in January-March, per the analysis based on VCCEdge data. This is still just about half the level from the peak three years ago.
To be sure, the number of startups getting a financial backer hit the lowest level in a decade in the January-March quarter of 2024, sliding below the 300-mark for the first time since 2014.
