India's Automobile Exports Rise 22% in 1st Quarter

Automobile exports from India rose 22 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q1 FY26), driven by record shipments of passenger vehicles and robust growth in segments like two-wheelers and commercial vehicles, according to industry body SIAM.
NEW DELHI:
Total exports across segments rose to 1,457,461 units in Q1 FY26, compared to 1,192,566 units in Q1 FY25.
Passenger vehicles saw their highest-ever exports in Q1 FY26, reaching 204,330 units—a 13 percent increase compared to 180,483 units in Q1 FY25.
Export growth in this segment was driven by stable demand across most markets, with strong performance in the Middle East and Latin America, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said.
