April 19, 2026

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved revised minimum wage rates across the state following recent labour unrest in Noida and Greater Noida, with the notification now receiving the Governor's assent and becoming legally enforceable.

- BISWAJEET BANERJEE

The decision, taken by the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, comes as an intervention to resolve the wage deadlock between workers and employers that had begun to impact industrial activity in the region.

Officials said the revised rates will be applicable across the state from April 1, 2026.
