'Trust deficit between farmers, govt': SC proposes panel to talk to protesters at Shambhu border

To bridge the trust deficit between farmers and the central government, the Supreme Court on Wednesday suggested the formation of an independent committee of eminent persons. This committee is tasked with engaging with the protesters at the Shambhu border to address their demands, including a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP).

The Apex Court has directed the Punjab and Haryana governments to propose suitable individuals for this committee and to submit a plan for the removal of barricades on the national highway. A status quo is to be maintained at the border for a week.
