Cal HC stays demolition move, directs KMC to hear residents

The Calcutta High Court has directed the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) to hear both occupants and property owners before proceeding with demolition action against several buildings in Tiljala and Kasba that have been identified as unauthorised constructions.
The court directed the occupants to appear before the concerned municipal authorities within 30 days. The KMC commissioner has been asked to ensure that hearing notices are served on both occupants and owners.
