India’s average tariff on British goods will reduce from 15 per cent to 3 per cent, while whisky producers will see immediate reductions from 150 per cent to 75 per cent, eventually dropping to 40 per cent over the next decade.

‘The prime ministers are scheduled tomeet in Mumbai on Thursday as part of their efforts to strengthen the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Their talks are expected to cover a wide range of areas including trade and investment, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate and energy, health, education, and people-to-people relations, in line with the Vision 2035 roadmap. Both leaders will also engage with industry experts, policymakers, and innovators at the CEO Forum and the sixth edition of the Global Fintech Fest.
