VP Sara doesn't expect impeachment case vs Marcos to prosper

Vice President Sara Duterte does not expect the impeachment case to be filed against President Marcos to gain ground in the House of Representatives as majority of the lawmakers there are allies of the Chief Executive.
“Well, we don't expect that the House of Representatives will take it seriously because most of the members of the House of Representatives are allies of the President,” she told reporters in Tres de Mayo, Digos City on Saturday, May 10.
“And an impeachment is a political exercise. It's a game of numbers. So, I don't expect anything to happen to that impeachment complaint,” she added.
On Thursday, May 8, former Duterte Youth Partylist Rep. Marie Cardema and ex-National Youth Commission chairperson Ronald Cardema posted a photo of them on Facebook holding a document with the front page that read “verified impeachment complaint” against the President.
The Vice President said she hasn’t seen the Articles of Impeachment, and only knew about the complaint after it was reported that the Cardema couple has filed it.
Meanwhile, the President’s allies — Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidates Vicente "Tito" Sotto III and Panfilo "Ping" Lacson — dismissed the impeachment complaint as a smear tactic filed in time with the May 12 election.
