Sultan Kudarat vows grandiose Kalimudan Festival
Manila Bulletin
|October 2, 2025
The provincial government of Sultan Kudarat has vowed a grandiose Kalimudan Festival next month that will coincide with the province's 52nd founding anniversary.
With the launching of the annual celebration at SM City General Santos City on Tuesday, Sept. 30, festival director Kahar Dalaten said the province is gearing for a longer and livelier Kalimudan Festival 2025.
Dalaten said residents, as well as visitors, could expect bigger celebrations as organizers described it as the gateway to Region 12 or the Soccsksargen Region (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City).
He added that the event promises to give a wider exposure to investors, partners, and tourists.

Check your walls; disaster preparedness starts at home
The magnitude 6.9 earthquake that rattled Cebu-its tremors felt in Negros, Iloilo, and beyond-is another stark reminder that disaster preparedness is nonnegotiable. Many believe that it is the government's job. True-but it is also, fundamentally, our personal responsibility. And it should start long before a disaster strikes (and not end with a go bag).
