QC gov't terminates four projects linked to Discaya construction firms

The Quezon City Government has officially terminated four projects linked to Pacifico "Curlee" and Sarah Discaya as it denounced "malicious insinuations" linking the city's infrastructure projects to construction firms owned by the Discayas.

"We condemn any and all malicious insinuations that only seek to distract from the actual schemes and perpetrators that have victimized our city and our country," the city government said on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

In an official statement, it emphasized that since the start of Mayor Joy Belmonte's administration in July 2019, only four out of more than 1,300 infrastructure projects, equivalent to 0.3 percent, have been awarded to Discaya-linked entities or joint ventures.
