PH consulate: No Filipino casualties in Texas floods
Manila Bulletin
|July 08 2025
The Philippine Consulate General in Houston said on Monday, July 7, that there are no known Filipino casualties in the massive flooding in central Texas that already killed some 81 people.
In an advisory posted on the consulate's Facebook page, it assured the Filipino community that it is closely monitoring the situation in flood-hit Texas.
The consulate also assured that it “stands ready to extend necessary and appropriate support" to Filipino nationals who may be affected by the flooding.
The consulate can be reached through (346) 256 4522 and pcghouston.atn@gmail.com.
Risk of further floods With more rain on the way, the risk of life-threatening flooding was still high in central Texas on Monday even as crews searched urgently for the missing following a holiday weekend deluge that killed at least 82 people, including children at summer camps. Officials said the death toll was sure to rise.
Residents of Kerr County began clearing mud and salvaging what they could from their demolished properties as they recounted harrowing escapes from rapidly rising floodwaters late Friday.
Reagan Brown said his parents, in their 80s, managed to escape uphill as water inundated their home in the town of Hunt. When the couple learned that their 92-year-old neighbor was trapped in her attic, they went back and rescued her.
