Over 500 cops to be deployed for Negros Occidental opening

More than 500 personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office will be deployed in the province to ensure the safety of students during class opening on June 16.
Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said that police assistance desks will be established and foot and mobile patrol will be conducted to increase police presence in schools.
"This is purposely for crime prevention and we are annually preparing this as part of our integrated patrol deployment plan," he added.
He said that at least two policemen will man the assistance desks in shifting schedules. He added that they will come from police stations in every municipality.
Catalogo said that during a meeting with Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson on Thursday, he emphasized the need to strengthen police presence in schools for the safety of students, parents, and teachers.
