NDRRMC: 3 dead due to 'Nando', 2 other weather disturbances

Three people have died due to the combined effects of Super Typhoon "Nando", tropical cyclone "Mirasol", and the southwest monsoon (habagat), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

A situational report showed that one fatality in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and two deaths in Central Luzon were being validated by the NDRRMC. Nine individuals were injured and five others were reported missing.
Among the fatalities was a 74-year-old man who was pinned to death inside his vehicle after a landslide struck Sitio Begis, Poblacion along Marcos Highway in Tuba, Benguet on Sept. 22. The incident also damaged two sport utility vehicles (SUVs), a van, and an oil tanker.
