Due process must be observed in the case of Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, and she must be treated fairly until all questions surrounding her suspension are resolved, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said.

Marcos issued a statement on the six-month preventive suspension against Garcia on Thursday, May 1, calling for fair treatment for the local official.

The rule of law must be upheld, the President said, stressing that actions such this must go through proper channels.
