LPA, ‘habagat’ to bring more rains this week in Luzon, Visayas

A low-pressure area (LPA) and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat) may bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over some parts of the country this week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, Sept. 1.
As of 3 a.m., Monday, the LPA was located 695 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said the weather system has a low probability of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours but may move northwest and cross Luzon in the coming days.
On Tuesday, Sept. 2, scattered rains and thunderstorms may prevail over Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, and Visayas.
