Kingdom of Pride: Honoring Saudi Arabia's 95thNational Day
Manila Bulletin
|September 23, 2025
On this day in 1932, the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud-may Allah bless his soul-proclaimed the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This historic declaration marked the birth of a modern nation, forged from resilience, vision, and an unwavering commitment to unity. It laid the foundation for a civilizational journey that continues to shape the Kingdom's identity and global role to this day.
Over the past nine decades, Saudi Arabia has evolved from its founding phase into a dynamic era of empowerment. Guided by steadfast leadership and a deep-rooted sense of purpose, the Kingdom has overcome internal and regional challenges to ensure a dignified life for its citizens and residents. Under the wise stewardship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman-may Allah preserve them-the Kingdom has embraced a bold reform agenda that harmonizes tradition with modernity.
At the heart of this transformation is Vision 2030, a national initiative launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. Drawing upon Saudi Arabia's strategic location, economic strength, and cultural heritage, Vision 2030 has catalyzed sweeping reforms across infrastructure, economic diversification, women's empowerment, and social development. It has redefined the Kingdom's global image-positioning it as a hub for investment, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The impact of these reforms is reflected in global benchmarks. In 2025, Saudi Arabia ranked first in the Edelman Trust Barometer for government transparency and topped the Global Safety Index for emergency response. The Kingdom's healthcare sector continues to thrive, with seven Saudi hospitals recognized among the world's leading academic medical centers. Culturally and athletically, Saudi Arabia has hosted major international events, including the French International Squash Championship, further cementing its status as a rising global destination.
