Improving economy, reduced poverty prove PBBM's programs are working - Palace

Malacañang said the recently released poverty and food insecurity numbers were concrete signs that President Marcos' anti-poverty programs are delivering results.

Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said this after the latest OCTA Research survey showed that the number of Filipino families considering themselves poor slid to 42 percent in April from 50 percent in November 2024.

Food poverty also fell to 35 percent from 49 percent in the previous quarter.

This translates to 3.7 million families who do not think they are food poor.

In her press briefing on Friday, May 9, Castro said the recent economic figures show that the administration's programs were working and leading the country in the right direction.
