If not Senate leadership, Sotto keen on heading ethics panel
Manila Bulletin
|May 17, 2025
Presumptive senator Vicente Sotto III on Friday, May 16 said he was keen on asking the Senate leadership that he be allowed to head the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges so he can help restore the dignity and the good image of the institution.
Sotto, who will return to the Senate in the next 20th Congress after winning in the May 2025 elections, said he will ask this favor if he is not elected as Senate president.
"If my colleagues do not elect me as Senate president, I will ask for the committee on ethics," Sotto said in a Zoom interview.
"You would know why...the definition of the committee on ethics speaks for itself," the former leader of the Upper Chamber stressed.
