EDC forms Indonesia JV

Lopez-led Energy Development Corp. (EDC) has announced a new joint venture (JV) in Indonesia to develop 440 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy (RE).
In a statement on Wednesday, Aug. 27, EDC said its subsidiary, PT FirstGen Geothermal Indonesia, has partnered with Indonesian geothermal firm PT DSSR Daya Mas Sakti (DSSR), a unit of energy and infrastructure firm PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA).
The collaboration will focus on managing and developing geothermal resources in several locations across Indonesia, including West Java, Flores, Jambi, West Sumatra, and Central Sulawesi.
EDC noted that while Indonesia holds 40 percent of the world’s geothermal reserves, only about 10 percent has been developed.
