Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon on Tuesday, Sept. 30, ordered the installation of two additional temporary pumps at the Sunog Apog Pumping Station in Tondo, Manila.

- By TRIXEE ROSEL

The station, which has not been operating since 2020, has not been able to ease flooding in nearby communities.

Dizon said in a television interview that the new pumps, added to two previously installed by the former supplier, will provide immediate relief to flood-prone areas while authorities continue investigating the defective facility.

‘Life is precious; no amount of damages can ever hope to replace it — SC

“This Court does not mean to put a price on a person's life. The value of a human being is immeasurable. It is priceless. Yet the law, in all of its justice, deems it necessary that every injury — more so the loss of life — be compensated in the form of damages.”
