COA flags NTF-ELCAC's 'low utilization' of funds

The Commission on Audit (COA) has flagged the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) over the "low utilization" of funds that hampers the task force’s mandate of fostering peace in conflict-affected areas and vulnerable communities.
It said, that from 2020 to 2024, the NTF-ELCAC had P9.78 million unutilized fund of which P7.64 million had been reverted to the National Treasury from 2020 to 2023.
In its 2024 annual audit report (AAR) on the Department of National Defense (DND), the COA said that the NTF-ELCAC had allotments amounting to ₱14.34 million and ₱4.56 million from 2020 to 2024.
