In a celebration of academic distinction and ecclesial leadership, the University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA) conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters upon the Very Reverend Fr. Richard G. Ang, OP, Rector Magnificus of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila.

The formal conferment took place on May 1 during the grand Graduation Ceremony of UNDA held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia.
The ceremony was graced by the Honorable Christopher Ellison, UNDA Chancellor, who delivered an introduction extolling the Father Rector for his steadfast commitment to Catholic higher education.
Chancellor Ellison underscored Ang’s pivotal role in advancing the mission of Catholic education not only within the walls of the University of Santo Tomas but across the Asia-Pacific and Oceania regions.
