Ash emission recorded at Kanlaon Volcano; Mt. Bulusan acting up

A 30-minute ash emission was recorded at the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano on Sunday, Oct. 12, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The event, which occurred from 6:47 a.m. to 7:17 a.m., produced grayish plumes that rose about 1,000 meters above the crater.
Phivolcs said Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon, indicating moderate volcanic unrest.
It warned that sudden explosions, increased activity, or escalation to a higher alert level remain possible.
Over the past 24 hours, the active volcano also had three volcanic earthquakes.
