Apple shows cracks in their armor at WWDC25?

After Apple's big update announcement, unifying all their platforms to version 26, let's talk about what Apple did.

They went back to basics, focusing on updates and features that are already developed, but in beta, and not promising anything they haven't done yet. This is a good move, showing that Apple learned from last year's Apple Intelligence promise. Remember when they promised Siri would have Apple Intelligence features but didn't deliver? IMHO, that was an attempt to please investors, and Apple management fell for it. But Apple Intelligence isn't gone, it's just been improved. I'll talk about that later. So, what did Apple announce?

Let's start with Apple Intelligence. Apple didn't abandon it or the promised Siri with Apple Intelligence. While Apple Intelligence powered-Siri wasn't mentioned in the keynote, but in a separate interview, Apple executives told the Wall Street Journal that their first version of the improved Siri didn't meet their standards and wasn't released. They needed a new architecture. If rumors are true, Apple believes the second version is much better than the first, but they didn't announce it yet, nor did they give away any details about it. They said it's still on track for release later this year - let's hope so!

Apple did make some improvements to Apple Intelligence. They gave app developers access to Apple Intelligence models, both locally, on-device and on their private cloud compute, for free. This shows that Apple is committed to its secure, privacy-first, and environmentally-friendly approach, unlike many other machine learning models on the cloud.
