Warning rocketing rents could force people onto streets

RENTING a property is becoming even more expensive across Greater Manchester as prices are continuing to rise.

Average private rents in Manchester increased to £1,317 per month in the last 12 months, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.

The increase works out at an extra 5.1 per cent a year that renters are now having to find, as a housing charity warns that soaring rents could push people into homelessness.
