WOMAN LEFT WITH TERRIBLE INJURIES AFTER BEING STRUCK BY CAR

A 19-YEAR-OLD woman has been jailed after she drove under the influence of nitrous oxide and struck a pedestrian.
Louisa Tunstall was driving on Newton Road in Lowton, Wigan, towards the East Lancashire Road on the evening of Friday, May 24, last year when she veered to the left onto the pavement and crashed into a 51-year-old pedestrian.
After striking the woman, Tunstall's white Fiat 500 overturned and, in the process, caused serious and life-changing injuries to the pedestrian.
Louisa Tunstall, of Bradwell Road in Lowton, was jailed for one year and eight months at Bolton Crown Court for having possession of a Class C drug, driving under the influence of drugs and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
She was also disqualified from driving for two years and eight months and ordered to take an extended test when she is released.
