PLACED under huge pressure after losing to Grimsby Town earlier in the week, Ruben Amorim knew it was imperative his side secured a win against Burnley ahead of the international break.

It was far from plain sailing, but United emerged with the three points.

Burnley thought they would leave Old Trafford with a point having twice equalised, but Amad was brought down in added time to win a penalty. Bruno Fernandes converted and Old Trafford breathed a sigh of relief at the whistle.

THERE was a show of support from Amorim from the Stretford End before the game. Banners and flags were unfurled, and one flag had the message: “The good days are coming.”
