Rise in wildfires during ‘warmest' year

Manchester saw a surge in wildfires in 2025 - recording the highest number of incidents in the last four years across the region.It comes as it was revealed that fire services in England tackled nearly 27,000 grassland, woodland and crop fires during the UK's warmest spring and summer on record.
