GRANDAD FIGHTING CANCER TELLS OF JOY AS PALS SHOCK HIM WITH TICKET TO OASIS GIG
AN OASIS fan with cancer who was surprised with tickets to one of their Heaton Park shows says the experience will 'live forever.'
Dad-of-three Lee Brown, 50, was diagnosed with a Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST) nine years ago. He has had three surgeries and numerous rounds of treatment. In February, he was told his treatment was no longer working and that his cancer had moved to stage 4.
He is now undergoing a new, novel treatment in London as part of a clinical trial, with Lee saying he 'has hope.
Lee is a massive Oasis fan and has previously watched them in Manchester in the late 90s and in Chicago in the US, where he was living at the time, in 2001.
He was unwell when the tickets for their reunion tour went on sale last summer and, despite friends and family trying for him, he was unable to get any.
"They were the sound of growing up," he said. "They announced they were getting back together about the time I got ill again and I was gutted when I missed out."
