Freddie: I didn't know if I had it in me to carry on after crash
Manchester Evening News
|August 28, 2025
ANDREW 'Freddie' Flintoff has admitted he didn't know if he could 'carry on' following his horror crash while filming Top Gear as he prepares to return to the small screen.
-
The former Lancashire and England cricket hero suffered severe injuries in December 2022 while filming at the Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey for an episode of the BBC show, for which he was a co-host alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris.
Freddie was driving a three-wheeled Morgan Super 3 at high-speed on the test track at Dunsfold Park when it flipped over.
He was airlifted to St George's Hospital - a major trauma centre - in Tooting after he suffered severe facial injuries and several broken ribs.
