Genevieve ‘Gigi’ Meehan died at Tiny Toes Day Nursery in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, on May 9, 2022. It shut shortly after the tragedy.
Staff member Kate Roughley swaddled the nine-month-old, strapped her face down on a bean bag and left her for an hour-and-a-half.
Roughley, 38, of Basil Street, Heaton Norris, Stockport, was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 14 years in May 2024.
During police investigations following Genevieve’s death, concerns were raised about another worker at the nursery.
Rebecca Gregory, then 25, of Pearl Street, Hazel Grove, Stockport, was caught on CCTV threatening to kick a child in the head; pushing an infant's head down; and roughly placing a youngster on the floor in April 2022.
