HiBiscuit: Hibiscus for the Biscuits
Mail & Guardian
|M&G 08 August 2025
HiBiscuit is still in globally its early days, only benefits, from lowering blood pressure to boosting antioxidants and aiding in digestion.
-
HiBiscuit has reimagined hibiscus far beyond its usual role in health benefits it can offer and the harmony it has with hibiscus. The flower itself has a very tart and bold flavour that is often compared to cranberry or pomegranate, but with its own floral twist.
In the few months Hibicuit has been running, we have attended many popup markets all around Johannesburg from Pretoria to Joburg central. The biscuit spirit of innovation has even seeped into our customers who have shared their experiences. We found customers who now use HiBiscuit jams in their home recipes for cupcakes, layered in yoghurts, swirled through ice cream and even on burgers. One thing that everyone can agree on? HiBiscuit is SO GOOD.
