MEC Mosenogi's perjury and misleading of the Provincial Legislature

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the North West Province has expressed deep outrage and condemnation of the gross misconduct and perjury committed by MEC for Finance, Kenetswe Mosenogi, who at the time of committing the act, was serving as the Acting Premier of the province.

On 5 June, during a sitting of the Premier and Finance Portfolio Committee in the North West Provincial Legislature, the Acting Premier Mosenogi deliberately misled Members of the Legislature by failing to disclose the appointment she had already made in respect of the Head of Department (HOD) for Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT), as well as the Superintendent General (SG) of the Department of Basic Education.

The appointment of the HOD for DEDECT was finalized on 2 June, and the SG for Education was appointed on 30 May. These facts are confirmed by appointment letters signed by the Acting Premier herself, which the EFF has since obtained, dated and authenticated accordingly. This is irrefutable evidence that Mosenogi lied under oath before the Provincial Legislature as a presentation had been done to the Portfolio Committee confirming that no appointments of HODs had been done.
