Spike in crime sees police up patrols

AFTER dark police patrols have been increased following a spike in theft, break-ins and attempted burglaries across Macclesfield.

Officers say that there were a number of 'suspicious incidents and attempted burglaries' in Tytherington on the evening of Friday, October 3.
These took place on Tytherington Drive, Rugby Drive, Westminster Road, Manchester Road and Stapleton Road.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Suspected thieves have been captured on CCTV entering resident's driveways.
“Uniformed patrols will be increased during the hours of darkness. If you detect persons on your property, immediately dial 999 to report the suspected intruders and turn on any outside lights.
