Major works to put rail station off line for weeks

WORK further up the line will see no trains run through Macclesfield station for three weeks this summer.

The Manchester spur of the West Coast Main Line will close between August 2 and 22 as Greek Street bridge, in Stockport, is being replaced in a £20m project.
Replacement buses will operate to take Macc passengers either in the direction of Manchester or Stoke-on-Trent.
The railway will reopen the morning of the August 23.
Other stations affected are Adlington, Poynton and Prestbury.
