Growing number of people taking on 'imported' dogs
Macclesfield Express
|June 11, 2025
I SEEM to be getting more and more new owners coming to class with 'imported' dogs.
-
In years gone by, people went to local kennels if they wanted to adopt a dog.
It seems now their desire has been directed towards foreign dogs.
They may come with various papers and may or may not be genuine.
Their numbers have grown enormously since the concept of importing dogs into our lives became possible.
In the early days, such dogs could be purchased for £75 but as our appetites grew so did the price.
Today you can pay anything up to £1,500 for an imported dog and the supply never goes down.
When these dogs arrived on our shores I was eager to work with them whenever requested by their struggling owners.
